Scaling and Root Planing
Scaling and root planing is indicated in the presence of periodontal disease - or the presence of specific bacteria which destroy bone and cause chronic inflammation. At Hälsa Dental, we regularly check your bone and inflammation levels in order to clean your teeth and gums appropriately to maintain your teeth for life. Scaling and root planing can take either one or two visits, depending on severity. In order to prevent relapse of the bacteria, we recommend periodontal maintenance visits every 3-4 months.
Tooth-Colored Fillings
Tooth-colored (composite) fillings are used to restore teeth with minor cracks, fractures, and/or decay. Unlike silver fillings, tooth-colored fillings bond to the tooth, providing a stronger as well as a more aesthetically-pleasing restoration.
